BIOGRAPHY
If a song had no voice, but could tell a story, what would it
say? For some music lovers there would be no creative reply to
this question. For a unique dj/producer/remixer like Michael
Darius, the possibilities would be endless. With a passion for
music at a very young age, Michael found himself trying to
provide the best possible music for gatherings and small
parties, with the simple means of cassette tapes.
His interest turned to electronic music and he started listening
to the innovative sounds of Crystal Method, Robert Miles, and
Sash! as inspiration. From there on he allowed music to be his
pathway towards everything and a means to no end. Michael's keen
ear for music began to mold him into a skillful DJ and a
talented producer. His creative execution, dedication, and ideas
he displays, shows in the music he produces. As music to him is
like a unique language, he speaks fluently. Intricate detail and
minute sounds do not pass him by without perfection and
precision. Michael's talent is not just technical, his
instinctive musical creativity and skillful DJing tactics comes
straight from the heart. His performances emit an overwhelming
amount of feeling and emotion which leads his audiences to
forget their surroundings, but remember his powerful essence. As
one fan stated, "not only do you make your life interesting, but
our's too."
Once Michael saw that music was his vision, and that vision
pleased others as well, he did not waste any time. He quickly
formed Trilogy Recordings with Vic Odin and started on his
mission as a musical mastermind. After much time and effort,
Michael produced Plastic Elements in 2000. Pleased with the
results and the reactions from people, he was inspired to create
a sequel to Plastic Elements which also touched many hearts. But
his gratification did not stop there. In late 2000 he brought
out Outer Reaches from marinating and let it cook.
Michael decided that two creative minds are better than one. He
then produced the 12" record "Electra/Kinetic Vibes" in 2001
under Trilogy Recordings with Vic Odin carrying the alias "Trifactor".
The record took off from there at the record release party,
Trifactor Live @ Key Club, and sent fans soaring.
After the success of this release, Michael was inspired to
co-produce more effective tracks. With a lot of time and effort
being spent in the studio, the results were rewarding. He
co-produced tracks such as Lucent, Vermin In Ecstasy, and
Descent all under Trilogy Recordings.
Soon thereafter, it came time for him to step into new grounds
therefore leaving Trilogy Recordings and Trifactor. His
masterful collaboration of music produced was the result of him
being asked to join DHV Records in spring of 2002. Under the DHV
label he has so far produced and remixed several tracks which
are due to be released in 2003.
In late 2002, Michael was introduced to Alex Stealthy of DHV
Records. The two hit it off quickly and started working
together. The mixture of Michael's dark grooves and Alex's
beautiful melodies was something new. They fell in love with
their new "genre" and formed the group "Darius & Stealthy".
Michael is very much impressed with the talent Alex possesses
and enjoys working with him.
The direction Michael is going towards will undoubtedly make a
new indention in musical theory and concept. He credits a lot of
his success to friends and fans who have been there for him
throughout his journey. With the continuing support and his
drive to create, he will continue to give. He states, "As long
as there is one ear listening, my hands will still be spinning."
With his undying love for what he does, we will continue to see
Michael Darius exceeding behind turntables with no boundaries or
limitations.
